“God demonstrates his own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

My favorite verse because it describes me! Thanks to rich biblical teaching in my college years, God brought me to himself, regenerating me and making me new. God’s love was so great, that though I was still lost in my sin, Christ died for me. I am saved by the grace of God. I am ever grateful!

In the years after college, God developed in me a heart for church ministry and seeing the lost saved. While studying for the CPA exam (I was an insurance auditor, having majored in accounting), my heart’s desires became clear. I was in the wrong field! So in January, 2013, I put aside my accounting career and began pastoral studies at The Master’s Seminary in Southern California.

Upon graduation in 2016, God took me and my bride, Veronica, to Issaquah as a youth pastor. Over those 3 years we cut our teeth in ministry and had our first two children. In 2019 I became the Associate Pastor at First Baptist Church of Arlington, WA. There I taught weekly Bible classes, developed small groups and evangelism, provided biblical counseling and discipleship, and more. God richly blessed us with a joyful season of ministry and also our third child. And in 2023, God brought us here to the wonderful church family at Montage.

My greatest joys in ministry are preaching God’s Word, welcoming people into the church family, helping people grow spiritually through biblical counsel and discipleship, and seeing the lost come to know Jesus and be baptized. I would love to get to know you, help you connect here, and see you develop further in your walk with Jesus. That would bring me much joy!

Outside of ministry, I love my family—coaching Oliver’s baseball, doing whatever my girls Mabel and Luciana are into, and dating my wife or playing tennis with her. During my spare time, you might catch me indoor rock climbing or working on a home project. If I’m “lucky” I’ll play a round of golf each month, even in the dead of winter! I’m a Washingtonian, raised on Camano Island and the Kitsap peninsula, so Go Mariners and Go Seahawks!
